Up until a year ago, I honestly felt naked if I go out without a calculator in my bag.
Now, I don't feel that anymore--in time after not needing that gadget for my everyday use, that security blanket feeling that plain old sci cal gave me disappeared. I guess sometimes it just really takes time to get used to not having things that used to make you feel complete.
But yeah, I need a sci cal every now and then. And there are times I actually miss it, especially that one that got me through the worst of times. Maybe that sci cal and I would actually need each other some day, after quite some time, no one really knows.
